WHAT TO DO BEFORE A PATCH: Preventative Maintenance

Before using one of our update patch files be sure and back up and export your data to prevent mishaps.

We also recommend that you export your data to RDL (Realty DataLink Format) to ensure a smooth transition in case a problem arises in the process.

  1. Start Realty DataLink.
  2. From the main menu click UTILITIES in the top menu bar.
  3. Click BACKUP.
  4. Follow the instructions and tell the program where to save the file and what to call it.
  5. Now we will have you export your data as well. This acts as a secondary backup.
  6. Click UTILITIES again from the main menu bar.
  7. Click EXPORT from the options this time.
  8. Click the drop down arrow and choose "RDL Format"
  9. Make sure that ENTIRE CONTACT LIST on the left is selected.
  10. Continue with export. You will be prompted again for the name you would like for the file and the location in which the file should be saved.

Once you are done with backing up and exporting your data you are ready to update your program using one of our patch files.
